The Namun La Pass Trek is a remote and adventurous route in the Annapurna region for trekkers looking for a quieter Himalayan experience. The trail passes through traditional villages, forests, alpine meadows and rugged mountain landscapes before reaching the high Namun La Pass. The journey offers beautiful views of the Annapurna and surrounding Himalayan ranges while taking you away from the busier trekking routes. The high-altitude sections require good preparation and a reasonable level of fitness, but the peaceful landscapes and sense of adventure make this route a memorable experience.
Drive from Pokhara to Sikles and begin the journey into the quieter side of the Annapurna region. Explore the traditional Gurung village and prepare for the remote trail ahead.
Leave Sikles and follow forest trails into the mountains. The trail gradually climbs through quiet woodland and open hillsides, with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
Continue through increasingly rugged mountain terrain toward Namun Phedi. The landscape becomes more alpine as you gain elevation. Rest and prepare for the high pass crossing ahead.
Take a slower day to rest and explore the surrounding alpine landscape. Short walks around the camp provide an opportunity to enjoy the mountain scenery while allowing your body to adjust to the altitude.
Start early for the challenging climb toward Namun La Pass. The trail becomes steeper and more rugged as you approach the pass. After reaching the high point, enjoy spectacular mountain views before descending carefully toward the overnight camp.
Continue descending through alpine terrain before reaching greener landscapes and forests. The changing scenery makes the descent especially enjoyable as you gradually return to lower elevations.
Walk through forests and traditional mountain villages toward Dharapani. Enjoy the easier trail and the beautiful surroundings as the trek begins to connect with the lower Annapurna region.
After breakfast, drive back toward Pokhara. Enjoy the views of the hills, rivers and countryside along the way as your Namun La adventure comes to an end.
