Nepal is one of the world's most remarkable destinations, blessed with extraordinary biodiversity due to its unique geographical position and remarkable variation in altitude and latitude. It is the birthplace of Lord Buddha, “The Light of Asia,” and home to Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world. Nepal is also home to eight of the world's fourteen mountains rising above 8,000 meters, making it one of the world's greatest destinations for trekking and mountaineering.
Beyond its majestic mountains, Nepal offers an incredible diversity of landscapes, wildlife, cultures, and traditions. It is a paradise for trekkers and birdwatchers and one of the few places in the world where visitors can experience the rare one-horned rhinoceros. Nepal is a vibrant blend of ethnic groups and communities, with more than 92 languages and dialects spoken across the country.
Although Nepal occupies only around 0.1% of the Earth's total land area, it is home to approximately 2% of the world's flowering plants, 8% of the world's bird population, 4% of the world's mammals, 600 indigenous plant families, and 319 species of butterflies. This remarkable natural and cultural diversity makes Nepal a truly special destination to explore.
Our team of professionals lives, breathes, and enjoys the mountains, and we are fortunate to call this beautiful country our home. Most of us were born and raised in Nepal, and we take great pride in introducing visitors to our native land, its people, culture, nature, and traditions.
I started Fujiyama Treks in 1995 and Nepal Vacation in 2008, both based in Pokhara, Nepal, with a dedicated team of trekking and tour professionals. Since our establishment, we have been operating major tours and trekking programs throughout Nepal, along with selected outbound tours and incentive group programs.
Over the years, we have become known for our quality equipment, experienced and qualified staff, friendly and responsible crews, professional services, strong focus on safety and health, team spirit, respect for nature, and effective waste-management practices.
We provide our staff with annual refresher training so that they can offer our guests reliable information and proper guidance on Altitude Mountain Sickness, local traditions and cultures, the mountains of Nepal, and campsite management. We believe that a journey is about more than simply reaching a destination. The interaction with our trekking crew and local communities is one of the most memorable aspects of traveling with us. Spending time with our guides, learning about their culture, sharing stories, and experiencing their warmth and sense of humor can create memories that last a lifetime.
