The Manaslu Circuit with Chum Valley is a wonderful journey through remote Himalayan landscapes and traditional mountain communities. The trail follows the Budhi Gandaki River through forests, villages and narrow valleys before entering the peaceful Chum Valley. Here, you can experience Tibetan-influenced culture, Buddhist monasteries and traditional village life. The route then joins the Manaslu Circuit and continues toward Samagaon, Samdo and the high Larkya La Pass. This 16-day itinerary combines cultural experiences with spectacular mountain scenery and a rewarding high-altitude adventure.
Drive from Kathmandu through green hills, rivers and rural villages to Machha Khola.
Start trekking along the Budhi Gandaki River, crossing suspension bridges and walking through forests and small settlements.
Enter the Tsum Valley and walk through peaceful forest trails toward Chumling, enjoying views of the surrounding mountains.
Continue through traditional Tsum Valley villages and hillside trails toward Chhokangparo.
Walk deeper into the upper Tsum Valley, passing traditional settlements, Buddhist monuments and beautiful mountain landscapes
Spend the day exploring the upper Tsum Valley and visiting Mu Gompa. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and local Buddhist culture.
Retrace the trail through the Tsum Valley, passing forests and villages before reaching Lokpa.
Rejoin the Manaslu Circuit and continue along the Budhi Gandaki Valley toward Deng.
The trail climbs gradually through forests and traditional villages toward Namrung, with increasingly impressive mountain views.
Walk through beautiful alpine landscapes and villages with spectacular views of Manaslu and surrounding peaks.
Take a rest day to adjust to the altitude. Explore the village or enjoy a short walk around the area.
Continue through high mountain terrain toward Samdo, a traditional settlement close to the Tibetan border.
Walk toward Dharamsala, the final overnight stop before the Larkya La Pass crossing.
Cross the challenging Larkya La Pass and descend toward Bimthang. This is the longest and most demanding day of the trek.
Descend through forests and beautiful mountain landscapes toward Dharapani.
Drive back toward Kathmandu through mountain roads, river valleys and rural settlements.
