The Annapurna Circuit with Tilicho Lake is a rewarding Himalayan adventure that combines some of the most beautiful landscapes and memorable experiences in the Annapurna region. The trek begins with a scenic drive into the mountains before following the Marsyangdi River through green forests, traditional villages, and dramatic mountain valleys.
As the trail climbs higher, you will reach Manang and spend time exploring the surrounding area to help your body adjust to the altitude. From Manang, the route takes you toward Khangsar and the remote Tilicho Valley, where you will hike to the spectacular Tilicho Lake surrounded by high Himalayan peaks.
After returning to the main Annapurna Circuit, the journey continues toward Yak Kharka and Thorong Phedi. One of the biggest highlights of the trek is crossing the famous Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters. From the pass, the trail descends toward the sacred town of Muktinath and continues through the beautiful Kali Gandaki Valley, passing traditional villages such as Marpha before reaching Tatopani. The adventure finally ends with a scenic drive to Pokhara.
This trek offers a wonderful mix of mountain scenery, local culture, peaceful villages, high-altitude landscapes, and challenging Himalayan trails. It is a demanding journey, but the changing scenery and experiences along the way make it a memorable adventure for trekkers looking to explore more of the Annapurna region.
Today, the journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu toward Dharapani. The road gradually leaves the busy city behind and enters the hills and mountain valleys. After reaching Dharapani, you can rest and prepare for the trekking days ahead.
The trek begins as you walk through beautiful forests and traditional mountain settlements. The trail follows the Marsyangdi Valley, with views of surrounding hills and mountains along the way. After several hours of walking, you reach Chame, the administrative center of Manang District.
Today’s trail continues deeper into the Marsyangdi Valley. You will walk through pine and forested areas while the landscape gradually becomes more rugged and alpine. The mountains become more impressive as you approach Pisang, where you spend the night surrounded by spectacular Himalayan scenery.
The trail leads toward Manang through the upper Marsyangdi Valley. Along the way, you can enjoy views of Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, and other surrounding peaks. The scenery becomes drier and more Tibetan in character as you gain altitude. You arrive in Manang, one of the most important villages on the Annapurna Circuit.
Today is set aside for acclimatization before heading to higher elevations. You can explore Manang village, walk to nearby viewpoints, or visit the surrounding areas while enjoying views of the mountains and local landscapes. The day provides a chance to rest, explore, and prepare for the higher sections of the trek.
Leaving Manang behind, the trail heads toward Khangsar village and the Tilicho Valley. The surroundings become quieter as you move away from the main Annapurna Circuit trail. Along the way, you will see dramatic cliffs, dry mountain landscapes, and impressive views of the surrounding peaks.
Today, you continue toward Tilicho Base Camp through a rugged and spectacular mountain environment. The trail passes through steep slopes and high-altitude terrain, with increasingly impressive views of the surrounding Himalayas. After reaching Tilicho Base Camp, you can relax and prepare for the next day's hike to the lake.
An early start takes you toward the famous Tilicho Lake. The hike is challenging, but the views become more rewarding as you climb higher. Tilicho Lake sits in a dramatic mountain setting and is one of the major highlights of the journey. After spending some time enjoying the scenery, you retrace the trail and return toward the lower valley for the night.
Today, reconnect with the main Annapurna Circuit and continue toward Yak Kharka. The trail gradually climbs through the high mountain landscape, with open valleys and views of the surrounding peaks. Yak Kharka provides a peaceful place to rest before the demanding days ahead.
The trail continues toward Thorong Phedi, the main resting point before crossing Thorong La Pass. The landscape is increasingly rocky and rugged as you move higher into the mountains. After reaching Thorong Phedi, you can rest and prepare for the early start and long walking day ahead.
Cross Thorong La Pass and descend to Muktinath.
Descend through the Kali Gandaki Valley to Marpha.
Continue toward Tatopani through the lower Kali Gandaki Valley.
Drive to Pokhara and complete the trek.
